I've been hitting the trails more since the weather has been less than stellar.  Looking for some new recommendations.  If anyone has any, please post here.  I'll post a few I've found.

We visited Pratt's Falls recently since we hadn't been there in a while.  Expecting the parking lot to be full, there were a lot of cars, but we didn't run into many people except on the short trip down to the falls.  Although we didn't do all the trails, it seems there are about 5 miles of rolling, dry (except for the 0.6 mile loop going to the falls and back around) trails.  It was an enjoyable hike with a couple good views of the falls.

Try ‘Three Falls Woods’, in Manlius; a CNY Land Trust new acquisition (see website).  Park in the CNY Land Trust parking lot just north of Rt 173 on Sweet Road (RH side of the road).

View hiking information on cnyhiking.com website (search in the Hiking in Onondaga County section of this site).   Very unique rock formations on some trails.   Many loops, so you can select the distance you want to cover - print a map to help navigate.   The waterfalls are only a start to your exploration of this area.

Great Bear Park in Fulton is a wonderful place to hike, bike ride, and even horseback riding is allowed. It runs along the Oswego river and even has the remains of the canal along the waters edge. Many trails thru the woods as well.

Another local place that we frequent is the Camillus Forest Unique Area.  There are several miles of trails and some great views looking over the city and toward Tug Hill.

Trail 4 always has some mud on it and is the most demanding, but it also has some impressive wildflowers.  Attached should be a map that includes Trail 6, (aka South Perimeter Trail) which does not show on the kiosk in the parking lot on Thompson Road in Camillus, off Rt 173.

Some great ideas...  we also found Three Rivers Management Area on a semi-springlike day.  The trails are off 60 Road in the town of Lysander.  There are several parking areas off 60 and at least one off Kellogg.  We chose Potter Road (off 60 Rd), drove down a bit to park and found some trails.  The trails are suitable for gravel/mountain biking, jogging as well as hiking.  Mainly flat.  This part of the area backs up to Radisson.  As you may well know, check for ticks when you hike.

Tuller Hill State Forest in Virgil across from Greek Peak Mtn.  Haven't done it, but curious.
