Ski insurance now required to access slopes in Andorra

We will keep you informed on how to obtain the insurance

From 1 January, 2022, to ski in Andora you will need to comply with new regulations that require all skiers take out insurance in order to be able to pay for any damage caused to third parties. The penalty for failure to do so will be from €100 to €150, in addition to the withdrawal of the ski pass. The rules came into force last spring, after the approval of Decree 40 of 2021, but take effect from the beginning of 2022.

The Decree reads: “The skier who uses the alpine ski slopes must have valid insurance covering his civil liability for damages or injuries caused to third parties. It is obligatory for the manager of the equipped ski areas, with the exclusion of those reserved for cross-country skiing, to make available to users, at the time of purchase of the transit permit, an insurance policy for civil responsibility for damage caused to persons or things.”

The obligations apply not just to skiing, but also to snowboarding, sledding, telemark and all snow sports practices.
