Having trouble finding something on the website?

If you can't find what you're looking for on the website, there are a couple of tools that can help.

First is the 'Search string' function at the top of each web page (see example below). Type in a keyword or short description of what you are trying to find. You will get a list of all the occurrences of this item on the website. Just click on the item and it will take you to the actual page where it's located.

You can also hover your mouse over the three bars to the far right of the menu and then click 'Sitemap' to find the layout of the website and where a specific web page is located. Once you find it, click it and you will be taken directly to that page.

Hopefully these tools will help you find what you are looking for. If not use the 'Contact Us' and send a question to reach an IT member.

Cancelling your registration for an event

If you are registered for an event, your plans change and you cannot attend, you can let the organizer know by cancelling your reservation.

Logon to the website
Go to the calendar and click the event
Click 'already registered'
Click your name
Click 'cancel registration'

Once you cancel, the first person on the waitlist (if there is one) will be able to attend. It's also a good way to let the organizer know you won't be attending.

Sending a message to another OSC member

If you want to send a message to another OSC member, it's easy to do using the website.

Log on with your email and password
From the Home Page, click on 'Membership' on the menu bar
Click 'Member's Directory'
In the search bar, enter the member's name. It will come up on a list.
Click their name, click 'send a message',
Compose your message and hit 'send'

The addressee will receive the message as an email in their email account.

Forums Summary page

Quickly find out what Forums are available and which ones have Recent postings on the Forums Summary web page. To access it, click 'Forums' from the main menu.

Once you click it, you will see a list of all OSC forums. Scroll down to see recent posts and the forum they have been posted to.

Receiving Emails from Forum Posts

Have you subscribed to a Forum? If you have and would like to receive regular email updates from the Forum, you can go to your Profile (click your Name in the upper right hand corner of the web page after logging on) and select the settings you'd prefer.

Once you are in your Profile, click Email subscriptions. A screen will appear to tell you what forums or groups you are subscribed to as well as the emails you have chosen to see. Click on images below to see larger view.

Once you click 'Edit', you will be able to set how frequently you want to receive Email from the Forums. The choices are Immediately, Daily or Weekly. If you select Immediately, you will receive an email within an hour after the Post is made to the Forum. Daily means you will receive it the next day and Weekly is once a week. You can also choose to not receive emails and simply monitor the Forums as you choose. Once you make your selection, be sure to hit 'Save' at the bottom of the page.

Log On from your mobile phone

The website theme that has been chosen for the website is mobile friendly. To log on, click the arrow on the top right of the Home Page and a screen will appear to log on with your email address and password. See example below.

Lost or misplaced your membership card?

There is a new feature on the website - you now have access to a printable copy of your membership card in your profile. This will provide everyone with a replacement membership card should they need one over the course of their membership term.

Just access your profile, click 'Printable PDF', print and cut out your card. You can also access from your smartphone.

If you've lost your card and need one with the New Jersey Ski & Snowboard Council sticker, you will have to contact our membership registrar.

Member Profile

Each members profile is based on the information entered on the application form. If there are changes to this information, a member can logon with their email and password and update their profile.

Once logged on, click your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. If using a smartphone, click on the icon that looks like a person in the upper right hand corner.

Once you access the information, click 'Edit Profile'. Make changes to any field that needs updating. Once complete, click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.

Note: County has been added as a field in the database. Please enter your county of residence before leaving this page.

Member Privacy settings

Note: Before you change your privacy settings, you must go in your profile, click 'edit profile' and add your 'County' of residence to your information.

Depending on who you want to view your personal information, you can change privacy settings in your member profile.

To change these settings, follow these steps:

Log into your account.
Click your name in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Click the Privacy link.
Click the Edit profile button to enter edit mode.
You can now choose who can view your personal information. If a lock icon appears beside a field, you cannot change the privacy setting for that field.
Once finished changing your privacy settings, click the Save button.

Joining or renewing membership with OSC

On the new website, people have the ability to join or renew online. Just click the Join or Renew button on the Home page, select a membership level and click 'Next'. You can also renew by accessing your member profile and clicking 'renew now'. Please note that your memberships cannot be renewed unless it is 45 days or less from the member expiration date.

Payment can be made by check - paying at the General Meeting or mailing to our membership registrar (see General Contacts on the About Us menu). Credit card payments are also accepted. If you use this option, you will be directed to PayPal where you can use your PayPal account if you have one or by credit card and entering your credit card information.

There are 3 classes of membership, Adult Member, Past President and Junior Member. Membership status is either Active or Lapsed. An Active member is one who has paid their dues and can enjoy all the benefits of OSC. A Lapsed status indicates the member's expiration has passed a 14 day grace period and they can only log onto the website to renew their membership. If a member is in a Grace Period, they still have all the benefits of an active member.

When a membership is activated, the website will automatically send a letter with a temporary membership card. If paying by check, an invoice will be sent with the amount due to OSC. The membership will not be complete until the check is received. If the check is not received within the 14 day grace period, their status will go from Active to Lapsed.

The website will automatically send renewal notices for pending renewals and notices of a lapsed membership if the member doesn't renew on time.

Unique email addresses

With the release of the new OSC website, it's necessary that all members have a unique email address. It's no longer possible to share email addresses with this site. Your email will become your login to the website along with a password set by you.

A unique email is required for members to:

Renew your membership
Sign up for events and activities
Update your contact information on your profile
Receive reminders from the club on activities and renewal date.

Several free email services are available including Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and others. If you need assistance with setting up an email address, notify us at webhelp.onondagaskiclub@gmail.com

If you choose not to provide an email, membership renewals can be done at the General Meeting.

How to Login to the website

Like any website, there is certain content that is available to the public and some that is for members only. Member's only content includes Board meeting minutes, signing up for a ski trip, purchasing discount lift tickets online and registering for an OSC event. In order to view this section, you must log on to the website.

When a member joins for the first time or renews their membership and the membership is activated, they will also be able to log on to the members only section of the website. It will no longer be necessary to join the website separately.

Members who join or renew using a credit card will be able to sign on to the website immediately. Members that pay by Credit Card are activated immediately in the database. If paying by check, access to the members only sections of the website will not be permitted until the check is received and the membership is activated by the Membership Registrar.

The Login button is at the upper right hand corner of the Home Page. When clicked, a page will appear that prompts the user to enter their Email and Password. A members log on ID is their Email. They will be able to change their Email at any time by editing their user profile. Members will not be able to share Email addresses. Your logon will become inactive if you do not renew your membership with OSC.

In order for current members to logon for the first time, you can click either Reset your Password or Forgot Password on the login page.

If you are a new member joining OSC for the first time, a password will be generated and emailed to you. You can then logon and change the password.

If you forget your password, click 'Forgot Password' on the login page and you will be prompted to reset it.
